Keynote Abstract
Managing the Built Environment: the Sydney Opera House Experience
Australian FM Action AgendaFollowing the 2005 strategic plan, ‘Managing the Built Environment’ the implementation phase of this unique government and industry collaboration will officially conclude in June 2008 with the issue of the Year 3 annual report. This historic initiative covering a range of FM industry reforms, providing award winning research and published practice guides has perhaps more than any other volunteer effort increased the recognition of FM as the foremost contributor to the vision of a more “sustainable and productive Built Environment”.
This presentation will share the journey and delivery of practical tools and insights into industry frameworks for innovation, education, regulation and sustainability.
Additionally, there will be the findings of the award winning FM Exemplar Project: Sydney Opera House. The research project covered the themes of digital modelling, services procurement and performance benchmarking, and developed the case an integrated FM solution culminating in 2007 with the publication of ‘FM as a business enabler’.
